About

Giovanni Abrigo carries on the tradition of his father, Orlando. Since taking over in 1988, he has grown the family estate to 20 hectares of native varietals with a small parcel of international grapes.

His TEMPO project utilizes the winery’s modernized cellar to preserve exceptional vintages of their classic Barbaresco.

Aging

The wine matures in French barrels (20% new) for 15-18 months. The wine is bottled without filtration. Final aging in the bottle for more than 10 years.

Description

'Montersino', the name of the vineyard, is one of the top 20 cru in all of Barbaresco, and a limited and elegant release. The exceptional TEMPO project utilizes the winery’s modernized cellar to preserve exceptional vintages of their classic Barbaresco, only to be released at the right moment, usually after at least 10 years of controlled cellaring! Garnet-red in color, with a layered nose of vanilla, mature red fruits and hints of spice. Well-balanced sour, dry, rounded, yet delicate and velvety with fine tannins.
